Thomson announces new editors

TORONTO Thomson Financial Media, a unit of information providerThomson Corp., revamped the senior editorial staff of its flagshipU.S. financial newspapers, American Banker and Bond Buyer.

David Longobardi, 36, was named editor in chief of AmericanBanker, a daily paper that covers the financial-services industry,and its related Internet products, including americanbanker.com. Hereplaces Phil Roosevelt, who left the company in May. The appointmentis effective Wednesday.

Kieran Beer, 43, editor in chief of Bond Buyer, Thomson's papercovering U.S. public finance, will become editor of American Banker,a post also previously held by Roosevelt. The appointment iseffective at the end of this week. Bond Buyer Managing Editor MikeStanton, 25, will replace Beer as Bond Buyer's top editor.

Richard Melville will become American Banker's managing editor, anewly created position. He is a former deputy equities editor andWall Street editor at Reuters.
