QLD: People s Day at Ekka

More than 100,000 people are expected to pour into the Brisbane Exhibition grounds today
for People's Day.

The event's highlights include the Grand Parade in the main arena from midday, featuring
thousands of the state champion cattle.

Judges will treat their palates to a feast of flavours in the best sausage competition.

And pipe bands, show jumping, sky diving and the Wool Fashion parade will also feature on
the most popular day of the 10-day EKKA - the 124th annual Royal Queensland Show.

The day will culminate in a fireworks display at 8.45pm.
